Meet the Cast: Sarah Crane

February 24, 2015

We’re pleased to introduce you to the actors in our New England Premiere production of BIG FISH.  The play tells the story of Edward Bloom, a traveling salesman known for his tall tales and charismatic personality. When his adult son Will discovers he is about to become a father, he sets out to discover the truth behind his father’s larger-than-life adventures.

Actress Sarah Crane returns to SpeakEasy as the Girl in the Water, one of the more mythic characters of Edward’s past. Read our interview to find out more.

Where are you from?

Originally from Miami!

Have you worked with SpeakEasy prior?

I worked at SpeakEasy doing IN THE HEIGHTS.

Could you tell us a bit about the role you are playing?

I’m playing the Girl in the Water/Mermaid and a member of the Ensemble. I’m excited to play all of these characters to help Edward tell his story best to his son, Will. Specifically, the Girl in the Water teaches him about sensuality and in this role I am doing a lot of dancing, which I am very excited about.

Can you share a favorite memory of a parent?

My father is a tremendous storyteller and understands how to grasp an audience. He constantly impresses my mom and me because neither of us tells a story like he does. He is an inspiration and I hope I can continue his legacy and tell his stories to my children some day.
