Meet Our Newest Staff Members

Rebecca Miller, Development Associate

Rebecca MillerRebecca is a graduate of Brandeis University and holds a BA in Theater Arts. Before joining the staff of SpeakEasy, Rebecca worked at Trinity Repertory Company where, in addition to her work in development, she assisted the directors of Oliver! and served as a director for the Write Here! Write Now!student playwriting festival. Her first play,Amaranthine, was performed as part of the annual Brandeis Department of Theater Arts Senior Festival in 2013 and won the Harold and Mimi Steinberg Prize for Best Original Play. Rebecca has worked at a variety of theatre companies and arts organizations including The North End Music and Performing Arts Center, The Katz Company, The Broadway League, and The Actors Fund. She couldn’t be more excited to join the SpeakEasy Team!

Jake Alexander, Audience Engagement Fellow

Jake AlexanderJake is a recent graduate of Boston College with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Applied Psychology and English with a minor in Theatre. He was actively involved in the BC Theatre Department during his four years there, performing in several shows as well as serving as Secretary for the Boston College Dramatics Society and as an Executive Member of the AfterHours Student Theatre Board. He also worked as an Arts Administration Intern for SpeakEasy Stage in the Spring of 2014. As Audience Engagement Fellow, Jake will be facilitating the Student Matinee Series, working with groups to plan SpeakEasy visits, coordinating programming around each of the productions, and exploring other ways to reach out to the community.

Alex Lonati, Artistic Fellow

Alex LonatiAlex holds a Bachelor of Arts in Theatre Studies and Journalism from Emerson College, where she spent four years hosting “Standing Room Only, the Best of Broadway and Beyond” on 88.9 WERS. She combines her theatrical and journalistic interests by writing theatre reviews and conducting interviews for BroadwayWorld.com. She is an EVVY Award-winning director and looks forward to assistant directing in the area over the next year. In addition to directing and reviewing, Alex enjoys performing, traveling, and cooking almost exclusively zucchini-based dishes. She will be assisting Artistic Director Paul Daigneault in facilitating auditions and casting, spearheading dramaturgy and literary management based projects, and contributing to season development throughout the year.
