SpeakEasy Stage offers a variety of programs that further our mission of inclusivity, creativity, community, and equality. Whether it’s giving real-world experience to high schoolers, college students, and recent graduates or supporting local playwrights to develop scripts that explore what it means to live in Boston, we foster artistic excellence by amplifying diverse voices and bringing our community together through theatre.
SpeakEasy Stage has assembled the best actors, directors, stage managers, and designers Boston has to offer. Through our programs, we strive to support Boston’s theatre community and encourage deep connections in the city’s diverse, vibrant population.

The Boston Project is SpeakEasy Stage’s new works initiative that supports the creation and development of new plays set in Boston, all of which tap into the full breadth of experiences and identities that make up life in the Hub. Learn more about The Boston Project.
To deepen our audiences’ experience of our productions, we offer post-show conversations and additional resources for those looking to engage further. For each production, we will offer a series of panels specifically designed to fit the themes of each show. Engage in an upcoming discussion and forum.
At SpeakEasy Stage, we believe that the arts are for everyone. We produce relevant and bold theatre that has the power to educate and inspire our audiences – and student audiences are no exception. In addition to specially scheduled student performances, our internships provide hands-on experience and mentorship in the multidisciplinary art of theatre management, and the SpeakEasy Fellowship Program acts as a bridge for early-career arts administrators between their academic experience and professional life in the arts.
