Join us after the show for a special talkback session with Michael Korie.
MICHAEL KORIE is perhaps best known for his work on the acclaimed Broadway musical Grey Gardens, on which he collaborated with Scott Frankel (music), Doug Wright (book) and Michael Greif (director). He also wrote the lyrics for the musical Happiness at Lincoln Center Theater (with composer Frankel, playwright John Weidman, director Susan Stroman), and to Doctor Zhivago (collaborators Michael Weller, Lucy Simon, Amy Powers, director Des McAnuff), currently running in Europe and Broadway bound. He is now writing lyrics to a new show for Disney Theatricals working with composer Josh Schmidt and playwright Donald Margulies. Korie’s lyrics have received the Kleban Award, Jonathan Larson Award, and the ASCAP Richard Rodgers Award. His songs with composer Frankel were spotlighted at The Kennedy Center’s Millennium Stage Broadway Today. He serves on the council of The Dramatists Guild, contributes to The Dramatist, and moderates the musical theater division of the Dramatist Guild Fellows Program. He also teaches at Yale.
